The founders and directors of Mazie's Mission are
passionate about animal welfare. Their primary goal is
to end unnecessary euthanasia and ease animal
suffering.
Our founder and CEO Dr. Erin Shults quit private
practice to devote all of her time and expertise to
Mazie's Mission. She graduated from Texas A&M
Veterinary School in 1998. She founded Mazie's Mission
in the fall of 2009 with one goal in mind-become a
driving force in animal welfare. Dr. Shults believes that
every animal deserves to be treated with kindness and
live without fear. She is also training in the field of
Veterinary Forensics to aid prosecutors and law
enforcement in animal neglect, cruelty, and dog fighting
cases. She currently lives in Frisco, Texas with 2 cats
and 2 dogs.
Bruce Foster is our Chairman of the Board. He has
recently retired after a lucrative career as an
entrepreneur. His expertise at creating a business and
making it profitable is tantamount to making Mazie's
Mission successful. He currently owns a mixed breed
dog he adopted from the pound, Josh, and could not
imagine his life without a pet.
Linda Foster, an avid animal lover, is Mazie's
bookkeeper. She has an array of talents, including
money management. She also owns Josh and treats him
like one of her children.
Lisa Bloomer, C.P.A., has graciously volunteered to be
Mazie's Mission's Treasurer. She graduated from the
University of North Texas in 1991 and received her
Accounting license in 1993. She has been a certified
public accountant for over 16 years and will use her
talents to manage all donations and assets that The
Mission acquires. She currently owns 2 mixed breeds
shelter dogs, one that she adopted from Mazie's.
Our Veterinary Director, Jessica Abbott, has an
extremely important job at The Mission. She received an
animal science degree in 2004 and recently spent 4
years working as a veterinary technician. She will be
responsible for patient care at the sanctuary when it is
built. She currently owns 4 cats, 3 dogs, and a multitude
of fish.
Marcus Broussard is an Advisory Member of the Board
of Directors. He is currently the President/CEO of
Centennial Commercial Lending and will be vital at
obtaining land for The Mission. His expertise in money
management and land acquisition will be imperative. He
also owns 2 cats and 2 dogs.
