Listen up! Here are some of
our
'Special Needs' Pets:
The puppy mill business is directly
responsible for pet overpopulation.
Owners of these breeding nightmares
are strictly looking for profit-one female
dog can net an owner $50,000 over
her lifetime. While they are profiting,
these animals are suffering: no human
contact, lying in their own feces and
urine, being forced to breed. NEVER
buy a pet from a pet store or flea
market-they are puppy mill dogs!!

A No-Kill Nation:
My Mission, Your Mission,
Mazie's Mission
"Fred"
I had the worse case of Demodex that
veterinarians had ever seen! My face
was absolutely covered with scabs and
infection and would bleed if touched. I
also had a very bad case of intestinal
parasites. My treatment is going
superbly and I feel great! I am almost
completely healed! I am about 1 year
old and a Pointer mix.

"Hooch"
My name is Hooch because I am just a
big ol' lovebug! I am a Rottweiler mix
less than 1 year old. I was on the
euthanasia list at Arlington Animal
Services because my time was up and
I have a serious medical problem. I
have Demodex, a pretty bad case. But
it is very treatable and I am responding
well to treatment. I get along great with
other dogs and people of all sizes and
ages. I should be ready for a forever
home in a couple of months but you
can have a Meet-n-Greet with me
anytime!
"Lucy"
I was found by a good Samaritan in a
bank parking lot. I was really hungry
and my skin was hurting pretty bad.
This kind lady called Mazie's Mission to
ask for help and they stepped up! I
have the same type of mange as Fred
and Hooch (Demodex) and am getting
the same treatment they are. I am
doing so much better!
I appear to be an American
Bulldog/possible Pit mix. I am probably
6-8 months old. My demeanor is very
sweet and I am quite playful with all
dogs and people. My treatment is
almost complete and you can come for
a Meet and Greet anytime!

"Beau"
Everyone that knows me sure is
curious on why I am still at Mazie's. I
am the easiest foster dog EVER! I am
about 6 years old and a Lab/Chow mix.
I was pulled from 'Death Row' at a
kill-shelter. I had heartworms but have
been successfully treated. I am
housetrained, love other dogs, and get
along with cats. My favorite activity is
to follow you from room to room then
roll on my back and 'talk'! I act like a
puppy sometimes so you would never
know that I am middle aged. Come see
me for a Meet and Greet!
